PODCAST: The Professionals' Unprofessional Guide To Parenting

As a parent, how many times do you go on vacation?  I'm not talking family vacation.  I'm talking just you and your spouse without kids.  I haven't yet.  My kids are 2 1/2.

It's not that I don't want to.  I take that back.  PART of me doesn't want to because I don't know if I could handle being away from them.  But taking care of rambunctious (to put it nicely) twins isn't easy and I feel guilty leaving them in someone's care.  And how will they handle not having mommy there?  Will they be completely distraught?  Will they have abandonment issues?

But the thing is: sometimes you need to get away.  You take vacation from work so you can come back relaxed and rejuvenated.  Why shouldn't you do that with your kids as well?

Yeah, I talk a good game.  I'm still stressed about leaving them.
